My Cricut Craft Room - Letter M

M

For my Letter M project I used Mini Monsters. This is one of my favorite cartridges. I think the images are fun and cute.
I used the card feature to cut my monster out at 4.75" in green. His layer is cut out of purple at the same size and embossed with the Tiny Bubbles Cuttlebug folder. Instead of cutting his eyes and mouth I decided to give him some character and used wiggle eyes and antique copper brads.
For some subtle touches I used Glossy Accents on his spots and Glimmer Mist all over for just a hint of sparkle.
Please be sure to visit Erica's Blog and see what the other design team ladies have done with the letter M. You'll also find some My Imagine-ation Monday projects.

My Cricut Craft Room - WYEGW

Thanks for stopping by the check out my Would You Ever Guess Wednesday (WYEGW) post. If you're unfamiliar with what WYEGW is all about it's where we challenge ourselves to explore more of our cartridges.
When completing a WYEGW project we are not allowed to use the main images of a cart (anything you would see on the back of the box). Instead we are to use the feature keys. Our ultimate goal is to make you say "I didn't know that was on that cart!"
For my project today I used the Accessory Keys on the Paper Doll Dress Up cart. To me the paper doll carts are ideal for creating a project with cuts that many people didn't know where available.
I made this card for one of my daughter's preschool friends who just became a big sister. Since it's intended for a 3 year old I wanted it to be very child-like and used crayons to color the front. You can't really tell but I used Glossy Accents and glitter to make exhaust clouds and since I was stamping on crayon I used StazOn ink.
The inside is made with the font on Nate's ABCs. The mat came from Paper Doll Dress Up.

Recipe:
Paper Doll Dress Up
   Cityscape - 2.29
   Spaceship - 2.06
   Mat - 5.63 (stretched)
Nate's ABCs
   Font - 1
Crayons
Glossy Accents
Studio G Glitter
Pop Dots
Jet Black StazOn
Misc Stamp

Now stop back at Erica's blog to see what the other design team members have created.

My Cricut Craft Room - Texture

My Cricut Craft Room
For my textures project today I made a card and used a sizzex embossing folder.
This congrats card measures 4x6. The ribbon detail is done with my new We R Memory Keepers Sew Ribbon! I love this little tool! It's so easy to use and gives you great results. My silver square is 2 1/8" and my white square is 2". The flourish is cut from Accent Essentials at 2". The embossing folder is from the Happy Birthday #4 set.

How did you get into Cricut? and your chance to win the Sophie cart

Erica at My Cricut Craft Room wants to know How did you get into Cricut? And for answering this simple question you'll have a chance to win the Circut Circle exclusive Sophie cartridge!! All you have to do is answer the question on your blog, link back to her post and be a follower. You can find all the details HERE.

So how did I get into Cricut? Well I had seen the infomercial MANY times and really wanted on myself. So logically my brother's and I bought my mom one for Christmas! I mean why not! Pay 1/3 of the price and get to use it before you buy it?!? Makes sense to me!

I finally got my own Cricut last year for my birthday. My husband must have been tired of me talking about it and bought it for me. I was lucky to get a lot of goodies with it too; vinyl, markers, blades, deep cut blade housing, 4 cartridges and the stamp making set!

My Cricut Craft Room - Stamped Image

My Cricut Craft Room
I have a tag to share with you today that could easily be added to a card or layout or simply used on its own. I haven't added a sentiment to it yet since it can be used in just about any situation.
First I stamped my image from Stampendous (Dandelion Wishes) in alabaster chalk ink from ColorBox. Once I cleaned off my stamp I inked it up with VersaMark and stamped over my alabaster image. I used clear Zing to emboss the image. Then I took Tim Holtz distress ink in Peeled Paint and Broken China and inked my entire paper. The embossing resists the ink keeping the image visible. I used my gypsy, and Gypsy Wanderings, to stretch my image to 3"x4.5". I then stuck my paper to my mat and cut the image out.
Please stop by Erica's blog to see the other Design Team stamping projects as well as the Would You Ever Guess Wednesday creations.

I have two projects to share with you today. I used Happily Ever After, Dreams Come True, From My Kitchen and Nate's ABCs.

PROJECT #1
For my first project I created a display for my daughters room. It, of course, had to be princesses! As you can see I used just the silhouettes but I didn't use the blackout feature. I choose, instead, to take on the tedious and time consuming process of hiding all of the contour lines. I did this because the blackout feature didn't leave the thin details of the fingers and arms that I wanted.

I used DCWV Jewel cardstock for the background paper. The pink paper is Recollections and the simple white frames were purchased at Michael's.

Below is my cart, cut and size list for project #1.

Happily Ever After:
Cinderella - 4"

Dreams Come True:
Belle and Beast - 6.5"
Ariel - 4"
Jasmine - 4"
Dreams Come True - 4.5"

PROJECT #2
My second project is for the kitchen. I used my gypsy to design this vinyl decal. I ended up cutting the silverware and plate separately so that it could be bigger than my mat would allow. The word EAT is cut out of the vinyl so the wall shows through.

Below is my cart, cut and size list for project #2.

From My Kitchen:
Plate and Silverware - 10.5"

Nate's ABCs:
EAT - 2.75"

My Cricut Craft Room - Peachy Keen

I just love Peachy Keen stamps! If you don't own any let me rave about them for a second. They are super durable, stamp perfectly every time and are so darn CUTE! An extra bonus is that they are made right here in the USA - just over in Wisconsin actually.
I have a milk carton to share with you today. It's similar to the one I posted this weekend but I made a few modifications and wanted to show you step-by-step how you can recreate this using the Sweet Tooth Boxes cart (Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 has a milk carton cut on it if you're interested). You will need your gypsy or Cricut Craft Room.

Cut the sweets shop twice from Sweet Tooth Boxes at 6.75".
Cut M I L K from Nate's ABCs at 0.75".

Make you folds.

Measure 0.25" down from the top of the box and score a line. Do this on both cuts. Cut off top flap and the triangle you created by making your new score line.

Stamp 1/8" Peachy Keen Wide Eyed Kids face on front, color. Add letters. Punch straw hole.

Assemble, adding adhesive to the front of the tabs, the back of the entire length of top tab, and the front of the top tab were the triangle was cut out.

Add straw. I didn't have the hole punch large enough to fit my straw so I cut the length of the straw and rolled it up to fit the hole.

The design team has a lot to show you today using Peachy Keen Stamps and also the Simply Charmed cartridge so head back over to Erica's blog and check them all out.
This weekend is our 100 Cartridge Blog Hop and it also happens to be my birthday so I will be announcing a fun giveaway! Make sure to become a follower so you don't miss out.
